Thanks for giving such useful information about both the plugins.Both are at the mark at their own place.But i like Top Commenter most for it allows the blogger to display the most prolific commenters on the blog, over a period of time, often a month. In some cases , Top Commenter is only on the front page, so the link value is not diluted throughout the site.

Hope have such stuff in future too.

What’s worrying me is the fact that so many bloggers revert back to nofollow because of comment spam. Even though I have Askimet,affiliate I don’t want to sit for hours on end searching through spam comments for fear of Askimet mistaking a useful comment for spam.

This plugin would surely encourage others to comment and participate in the topic discussion. When commenting, it’s also important to give insights. Avoid giving comments such as “Nice post” or “I like your post.” because they don’t contribute anything to the discussion and could also be considered as spamming.

I think blog commenter should respect the policies of the blogger. Everyone needs backlinks & commenting on others blog can give advantage to both blogger & commenter, But one spam comment can ruin the other comments on that article. Plugins like Askimet are good to avoid spammers.

The No Follow feature of blogs was, as we all know, put in there to discourage spam.

Instead it discouraged one blogger helping another out with link building.

Now, there is a move on to reverse the trend and to make the entire feeling of blogging friendlier.

I appreciate that.

The site that I’ve listed, for example, is a Do Follow. All non-spam comments are allowed.

So, if you go to ToysPeriod, do it right as this blogger suggests. Read the articles thoroughly and be rewarded with a great backlink.
