Google Introducing Third-party Ads on the Content Network

Posted by reviews on May 22, 2008

Google has recently began allowing third-party advertisers onto their content network. Now you’ll see a larger assortment of ads displaying on Adsense.

The Google content network now accepts display ads served from qualified third-party vendors. Third-party ad serving has been a longstanding request from top brand AdWords advertisers who use third parties to create and manage their online campaigns.

Limitations (this will change as they develop):

  • Right now it is only available in English, but it will eventually be extended to other languages.
  • Only images and Flash ads will display third-party advertising. Text ads are not included.

    The more the merrier, right?

Maybe this will give the content network a little boost, which it could surely use.

It’ll be interesting to see how many 3rd party vendors will hop on board.

This new feature seems to be a good one. I read some articles about it, and it I think both parties could benefit with this feature.

Qualified ones? I wonder how Google determines who could be qualified. In any case, I think Google welcomes their competitors, which is a good thing.

Did you see that Google will be stoping the refferal programs and soon will launch their own affiliate platform?
